Intimate Waterfront Elopement | Morgan & Chris
Morgan and Chris’s wedding plans changed like many in 2020. Originally they were planning on getting married in Banff, but shifted their plans to elope at a private residence in SC.
“We met in HS at Wando High School in Mt Pleasant SC and were good friends. We both went to Clemson but went our separate paths. We reconnected my junior year at school and have been dating ever since. Since getting our Masters from Clemson and Virginia Tech we moved to the northwest corner of Iowa. We were planning on getting married in Banff, Alberta, Canada but since COVID we canceled the weddings that were planned there and are going back home to Awendaw, SC!”
Their wedding day started out with a first look at one of Charleston’s most iconic spots. We hopped around to different locations for bride and groom portraits around downtown. They were so much fun to photograph! When we arrived at their ceremony location, it was absoutely stunning! Their family set up the perfect intimate ceremony with the water as the backdrop and included their puppy in the wedding with an adorable bowtie! We took advantage of their dock and continued portraits there!
They even took part in the southern tradition of Burying the Bourbon! A tradition down south that is supposed to ward off rain on the day of the wedding. This intimate elopement had a 60% chance of rain and it didn’t rain at all. So, was it the bourbon?! I guess we’ll never know but we’re just going to say that it was.
Check out some of our favorites from their elopement below!
