A Corgi, floral collar, bicycle & Charleston

Shelby and Chris reached out to us to photograph their engagement photos, and said they wanted to make sure to hit a few different spots in downtown Charleston. They wanted to incorporate their bicycle as well as their cute little dog named Dixie, a Corgi. We started off at Hampton Park, with spring in full bloom it was a beautiful time of year for photos. We took some photos under a rose tree, and then under spanish moss draped off of a crepe myrtle. Dixie was such a photogenic dog, and also so well behaved! We made sure to get some close up shots of her. If you’re thinking about bringing your dog to your engagement session or wedding, do it! There’s nothing like adding a little more love to the equation 🙂 We finished at Hampton Park on a path lined with spanish moss and the light of the setting sun peaking through from one side. These photos really turned out so well. Shelby wore a floral red dress, white boots, and a big white hat. Chris wore a short sleeve button up shirt, jeans, and classy brown shoes.

After that, we went to a spot South of Broad on Meeting Street that we had scouted a few days before, with purple wisteria blooming over a fence with a big white Charleston House with porches. It’s so beautiful and a popular spot this time of year. Shelby and Chris went with a more formal outfit for the second half of their shoot. Shelby wore a white dress with a green leaf pattern, and white heals will a gorgeous flower embellishment. Chris wore a full blue suit, and brow dress shoes. Dixie the Corgi also decided to class it up, with a floral dog collar from The Bearded Florist. We walked towards the battery and grabbed a few spots along Tradd Street. At the battery, we jumped down to the small beach area to sneak in some shots before dusk. The outer wall of the battery, combined with the historic homes, and palm trees really work together to give a different angle of a classic Charleston spot.
