Alyssa and Michael wanted to have a destination wedding in the Lowcountry. They picked a classic location along the Ashley River, Middleton Place, because it’s, “one of a kind, historic, unique… it took our breathe away pulling in and seeing the road lined with Spanish moss trees.” This day was filled with laughter and a ton of fun.
Alyssa wanted something chic, modern, sophisticated, and classic for her wedding day, and she opted for champagne colored bridesmaids dresses, while the gentlemen wore classic black tuxedos. We started the day with wedding day details, which included Alyssa’s grandmother’s jewelry that she wore, custom “Mrs.” heels designed by the bride herself, and the groom’s pocket watch, given to him by his grandfather.
After first looks with both her bridesmaids, and her father it was time for the big reveal with her husband to be, Michael. One of the parts of the job that will never get old, is seeing two people in love, so happy to be getting married to each other. Their genuine emotion, and affection warmed our hearts!
Getting to the venue provided more opportunities for portraits with Alyssa and Michael. Middleton Place is endlessly beautiful, and it’s expansive grounds make for stunning wedding day photos. They were married in the octagonal garden, enjoyed cocktail hour with their guests at the crane pond, and then danced the night away at their reception in the pavilion. The reception was filled with luscious florals, various candles and each table was named after the boroughs of NYC in lieu of table numbers. We loved that they brought some of their NYC home into their wedding day design! Cheers to the newlyweds!
