One of the most exciting parts of this job is that each wedding we have the pleasure of photographing is completely unique. Between the venue, the decor and the color palette, it’s always a nice surprise to see how the aesthetic of each event inspires us as photographers. When we arrived at the Gadsden House for Jenna and Logan’s big day, we were ecstatic to find bright and rich colors enticing our cameras as we surveyed the charming venue. We appreciate a clean and classic look, but the vibrant hues of Jenna and Logan’s colorful summer wedding provided a lush cheer that set the tone for the evening, and perfectly complemented this sweet and happy couple.
Jenna and Logan were both raised up North but were eventually drawn to the warm southern sun and the pace of coastal living. After Jenna graduated from College of Charleston, she met Logan while slinging smoothies in Mount Pleasant. Logan became one of her regulars because he can’t resist a good smoothie, nor the opportunity to be greeted by Jenna’s beautiful smile. The two started dating and in the past few years have moved together to Boston, New Orleans and are now settled down in Charleston.
Jenna and Logan held their wedding at the newly restored Gadsden House on the east side of the Charleston peninsula. The florist Petaloso transformed this historic venue into a botanical museum, providing the guests with brilliant arrangements to marvel at. Every arrangement was a work of art, each one intentionally placed throughout the venue, with contrasting hues that enchanted us all. Mandalynn Shwartz of Spellbound Events created four different dining experiences inspired by the shades Camel, Sage, Coral and Maize. Each shade and its accompanying decor and florals produced a unique and sophisticated dining room atmosphere.
Jenna was an effortlessly gorgeous beachside bride. Her spaghetti-strap gown and lace train fell weightlessly on her silhouette as she moseyed around the Gadsden property. Logan looked dapper in his blue suit with a yellow rose fastened to his lapel. The couple said their vows in front of a menagerie of tropically inspired flower arrangements, and then strolled down the aisle with pink and white rose petals raining on their beaming faces.
After the ceremony, the wedding party enjoyed the quaint courtyard of the Gadsden property, hanging out on the chic furnishings provided by The French Eclectic and cooling down with ice cream pops stowed away in a bicycle cart. As the sun set, Jenna and Logan took to the floor for their first dances, and then cut their wedding cake adorned with flowers and Jenna’s parent’s original cake topper. The wedding party spent the rest of the evening dancing, laughing, embracing and basking in all of the love that permeated the venue. Jenna and Logan were glowing with joy as they watched their dream wedding night unfold before their eyes.
Thank you for inviting us along to this colorful celebration. We wish you the best Mr. and Mrs. Fiery!
