We are a husband and wife outdoor destination wedding photography duo! (Phew, try to say that three times fast!) We’re elated to be capturing the unique love stories of our sweet couples and overjoyed to be celebrating love in all its forms and expressions.

We met in high school and tied the knot ourselves in 2017. Tim joined KDP when we started dating and showed up to every portrait session to help Kailee carry her equipment. Fast forward to now and he is the essential, other half of KDP!
Kailee has been photographing couples’ love stories for over a decade. With experience as a wedding planner, a bride and a photographer, Kailee has a unique perspective on what makes an easy-breezy, beautiful wedding day. Kailee has a loud, infectious laugh inherited from her father and a jet-setting heart that is always dreaming about the next big adventure.

Tim has been supporting Kailee in her photography dreams since their college days – but little did he know this would reveal his own passion and aptitude for photography! A skilled drone pilot and lover of the Lowcountry, Tim enjoys taking photos that showcase the architecture and landscape of each venue. Tim has a warm, attentive disposition and if the music is right, some enthusiastic, pants-ripping dance moves.
Once you say your “I Do’s”, eaten all of the cake and danced to the band’s last song, your photographs will be one of the only things here to remind you of just how beautiful your wedding day was.

02. Schedule Strategically
The secret to feeling present is to be set up for success beforehand, so schedule strategically! Your ceremony time will define how the rest of the day unfolds. If it’s early, great, you can take your photos in between the ceremony and cocktail hour, but if your ceremony flows into your cocktails, well, you should probably consider a first look. Our goal? To have everyone present for as much of cocktail hour as possible. It’s one of the only times you get to greet and be present with your guests. So work with your photographer, find out how long they need for certain shots, schedule in travel time, and add a little extra cushion (because it’s better to be safe than sorry!).

03. Prep Ahead of Time
When we show up to a wedding day, we are ready to get to work! We recommend having the dress, rings, shoes, cufflinks, full invitation suite, jewelry, any family heirlooms, and any other personalized details set aside for our arrival. We start out by styling these details to help tell your wedding day story and set a tone for your wedding gallery. If you don’t have things ready, we’ll be wasting time tracking them down when we could be photographing them!

04. Communicate Clearly
Do you want your wedding party to hang around after the ceremony? Tell them! Make sure you communicate the schedule clearly ahead of time to the wedding party and family members. This keeps us from wasting time tracking people down or grabbing them from the bar. Photos move much faster when everyone is present and ready. Save yourself some stress and send out a friendly reminder the day before the wedding to everyone involved in the photos!

05. Make Time For Photos
We will never force anyone to do a first look. (It’s your day, not ours!) However, we do encourage a first look because it gives you a chance to express and embrace all the emotions without an audience. Second, it allows you and your sweetie to have an intimate stroll around the wedding venue for newlywed portraits before all your excited guests start pouring in. Once we get those portraits knocked out we can cruise through the remaining festivities with candid shots. Third, it allows your bridal party and family to enjoy cocktail hour because they won’t be waiting around after the ceremony to get their photos taken! Lastly, it gives us uninterrupted time to preserve and document the gorgeous reception details that you have been thoughtfully curating for months!

We are here to capture your connection, not where you’re at or what you’re doing. However, if there’s a place special to the two of you, or a theme that’s meaningful, then we’re here to help you bring this vision to life! Ironically, get off Pinterest. It’s easy to get caught up in seeing the Eiffel Tower, but if you aren’t bringing us to Paris then those images won’t happen. That doesn’t mean you can’t have a Paris-themed engagement session! The days of matching white T-shirts and jeans are long gone. Our couples typically bring two outfits: one fancy and one casual. Embellished, sparkling and textured fabrics pick up wonderfully in photos and are so fun! Keep complementary colors in mind. Our favorite colors to photograph are pinks, blues, yellows, and well, all of them! Dress as if you are going to the same place (ie. stilettos and cargo shorts don’t go well together). If you love patterns, great – but there is no need for both of you to be in a bold pattern. Allow the location to set the tone and inspire your wardrobe! Most importantly, consider your comfort levels. Don’t go too short, tight or baggy if you aren’t going to feel comfortable during your session. The more confident you both feel, the more likely you are going to love the final product!

You chose your photographer because they know the best lighting, flattering poses and techniques to make you look and feel your best. So it’s time for you to take a deep breath and trust the people you chose. The more trust you place in us, the more freedom we will have to create the types of images that you’ll love. You may feel uncomfortable at times, but those in-between awkward moments lend some of the most beautiful, authentic interactions that can only happen when two people are in love. You’ll hear us say over and over again, “feels weird, looks great!” So trust us and go with it. As natural light photographers, we plan our engagement sessions around the sun. We usually begin two hours before sunset, which allows for an outfit change while shooting during golden hour. Showing up ready and on time will ensure that we do not cut into your session or the golden hour lighting! Once the sun goes down, there isn’t much we can do, so staying on track with timing is the best way to ensure gorgeous images. This also means that at times we may have to keep an eye on the weather and start earlier in the day. You only get to do this once, so ensuring the lighting and environment are perfect will allow us to give you beautiful images!
